The unique New Year's atmosphere was presented to residents and guests of Astana by artists of the Moscow circus. At the arena, they presented a completely new program based on the tale of Lewis Carroll's "Alice through the Looking Glass". Funny clowns, aerialists, tightrope walkers and acrobats, as well as trained animals - brought unforgettable emotions to young spectators.
Alice directed by the talented gymnast Yoko Konurbaeva. This year, her number in the style of an equilibr on the matte-ramp received the grand prix of the international circus festival Echo of Asia.
YOKO KONURBAYEVA CIRCUS ARTIST: Circus is a very unusual art and in order to combine it with a fairy tale it was necessary to embellish a little. The program has a lot of interesting numbers, very strong numbers. Throughout the exciting performance, Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden will help Alice save her friends - the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat and the White Queen. So, together they defeat the Red Queen and her African lions. By the way, this number can rightfully be called the most spectacular.
According to trainer Mukhtar Uselbaev, his family is the only dynasty of artists in Kazakhstan that works with wild cats. For 11 years, Mukhtar, together with his parents, has tamed these beautiful and dangerous animals.
MUKHTAR USELBAYEV, TRAINER: That is, it was the first lions in Kazakhstan, and we had the honor to be the first, we certainly did not miss this opportunity, and took advantage of this opportunity, and I can assure you that it was quite successful. In addition to dangerous numbers, the fairy tale was accompanied by unusual tricks and vivid special effects. In addition, throughout the performance, small spectators took an active part in Alice's adventures. Viewers will be able to watch the New Year’s performance on holidays, the production will last until January 9.
